NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER

We had a very active day with all the students hard at work.

Grade 6 worked on the different sounds found in the French language. We practiced quite a bit. They also reviewed the type of store found in a small town in Québec. vocabulary such as; Dépanneur, librarie, salon de beauté etc....
Homework is completing the sheet with this vocabulary.

Grade 7 had a surprise quiz! The verbs pouvoir, vouloir and devoir that they had to study and review were part of the quiz. Students are realizing that to review their French material is important. However, they took up the quiz for correction and understand these verbs quite well.
Then, they studied the formation of l'impératif. Much discussion followed and we will continue to practice tomorrow.

Grade 8 worked on a grid for pronouns, reflexive pronouns and adjectifs possessifs. This was an intense session and a follow up will be handy tomorrow.

Grade 9 - Teacher read chapter 2 and the students followed  up with a map of Quebec. They had to locate all the places listed in the chapter. It was like a virtual tour of the Gaspé area.

Grade 10/11  Worked on a poem for a mother and will continue tomorrow with their own version for a father/male figure.
