NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER
NOTE *THAT LUNCH FORMS FOR NOVEMBER WERE DISTRIBUTED AND ARE DUE FRIDAY OCT. 23
*THE FORMS FOR PICTURE DAY WERE GIVEN OUT AS WELL.
Grade 6 Self-corrected last week's quiz and it will be marked for Thursday. There was a discussion about specialists at the police station whose job is to describe and take the description of suspects. There are so many ways to describe a face, hair etc...They read a selection in the textbook and homework is to re-read pp.37 to 39. to learn the vocabulary.
Grade 7 The students took a test on irregular passé composé verbs.
When they were done, they identified useful terminology to be used in their own version of a theft when they present la tâche finale.
In groups, they produced a story with a set of vocabulary and pictures. They are very creative! The groups need to complete this assignment for homework to present on Thursday, Oct.22. They will have 30 min. to polish the presentation on Thursday am.
Grade 8
The students received their marked tests as well as their projects. There will be opportunities to improve on some of the marks on Friday during Study Hall.
They took this period to get their scenario ready for their presentation on Thursday, Oct.22
The second step is to give a short police report and a solution for the crime
Grade 9 The presentations were interesting and everyone made an effort to include the questions as discussed in class and idiomatic expressions. The students had time to reflect on their work thus. They demonstrated much maturity during this process.
There is a test on l'imparfait on Thursday. This test is done from home. Study well to bring your marks up!
***A few students have emailed me their hard copy, BUT I hope this is not going to be the norm as you can very well understand that any teacher cannot run to the school photocopier for every students.
Grade 10/11 Also presented their film critiques and summary. Several students will have to present their hard copy on Thursday or even the whole project if they were not ready. Sadly, when this happens marks reflect their omission.
