Jeudi,

NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER

Grade 6 had a mini-quiz on the clothes. This vocabulary was given to study on Tuesday. The few who studied did well and we took up the text as a group to make sure that everyone was catching up.

Grade 7 took a pre-test on what they had to study from Tuesday: le passé composé. Part of the quiz was about a text with questions to test comprehension.
There is a test on Tuesday on the passé composé,  irregular verbs, page 164.
Please make sure to review this material. Please also read Le cas de la planche à roulette.

Grade 8 The students took their test on regular and irregular verbs in the passé composé tense. They will get their results on Tuesday.
To end the period, they formed groups and started to copy and brainstorm what is required to send an invitation for a mystery evening and how to respond. They will continue this activity next week.

Grade 9 If you have not read the last 3 chapters (you know who you are...)
please do it before next Tuesday. We took up the idiomatic expressions and these are to be incorporated in their timeline/interview paragraph of their parents. This is a reversed role child/parents and pictures started to come in which added interesting comments.
This project is due on Tuesday, October 20 and it should include 1 or 2 idiomatic expressions (from the handout), imparfait and passé composé used appropriately.

Grade 10/11 worked on their film summary and critique. Their rough copy is well underway and should include: characters, plot, time and location, a short summary and then a personal critique. Use the grammar concepts introduced in the unit: imparfait, plus que parfait. Presentations are on Tuesday, October 20.
