NEWS FROM THE FRENCH CORNER
It was fantastic to see everyone back and also meet a few new faces.
Grade 9- Homeroom and locker distribution ran a bit longer today, so we only had about 30 minutes.
This group is divided into 2 sections. The 'old' SJA students who did the FSF1D last year are now doing the grade 10 FSF2D.
The new grade 9 students are doing the FSF1D to get their credit.
Both groups received their textbooks, syllabus, binder...The main activity was to design an iceberg and discover what was essential to demonstrate talent and success. All the dictionaries in the classroom were in use! No real homework till Friday!
Grade 8- All textbooks were distributed along with other material (binders...)
NOTE: There are forms to be returned. everyone should have received a Reach Ahead form from Ms Chin. Please sign it and returned at the next French class (Friday). This form allows the grade 8 students to take the grade 9 French.
I hope everyone has completed their iceberg activity. During class, the students started thinking about their learner profiles and how to use it for the first unit.
No homework today.
Grade 11 After receiving their textbook, binder etc. The students downloaded the app La Presse and Paris Match. They will take turn each week and report on a topic of their choice. So, on Tuesday, Awa will talk about something of interest in Paris Match, and Orlando will report on an article in La Presse.
Also, please read the first selection Faut-il manger bio? Be prepared to answer a few questions on the topic.
Grade 10 FSF3U After receiving their binders, textbook etc., the students tried their hand at creating a statement of inquiry (SOI) in relation to their unit: Aux frontières des émotions. They decided on their Global concept and related concepts. Great job! Please read Le dernier raisin.
Grade 10 FSF2D same activity as well as both groups did their own creation of the iceberg of success. Please read chapter 1, Transformation.
-See you on Friday!
